Lo Charvaz (Hautecour en Tarantaise, 1793-Montiers, 1870), pedagogo dei principi Vittorio Emanuele e Ferdinando di Savoia, Vescovo di Pinerolo… e poi Arcivescovo di Genova, fu nominato nel 1862 Cavaliere dell'Ordine dell'Annunziata. Fu autore di numerose scritture di apologetica cattolica indirizzate in modo particolare contro i Valdesi, sottoposti a duri rigori nella sua stessa politica episcopale. Hugon / Gonnet, 2008.
