Chet Roaman was a publishing editor at Harper & Row who moved to San Francisco and became a major force in the gay scene of the 1970s befriending Ginsberg, Mariah, Lenny Lipton and many others. He wrote a column for City Magazine entitled "Roaman Around" interviewing gay celebrities. He also translated several poems by Genet for ManRoot's final issue.
