This is a UNIQUE book, being gifted in the inscription, from Edward N Wentworth to W. Turrentine Jackson, both men of academic and publishing reknown in the subject of the American West. As members of The Westerners, a Chicago originated group of Americans dedicated to preserving the western history of America, started in 1944, Wentworth, was a Director of the Amour meat company, and noted specialist about Sheep ranching and marketing, while Jackson was acclaimed as an American West hisorian in regard to commercial/financial development and growth, was a professor at the University of California, Davis, and the company historian for 20 year of Wells Fargo Bank. This is a many-times over memento for its several connections with American 19th century history, and the people who preserve its memory and traditions.
