Während Holzschnitte aus dem 18. bis frühen 20. Jahrhundert im Mittelpunkt zahlreicher Ausstellungen und Veröffentlichungen standen, wurde der Druckgrafik und Radierung der Nachkriegszeit deutlich weniger Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Diese Publikation ist die erste deutschsprachige Monografie, die sich dem Leben und Werk Tanaka Ry heis widmet und den Fokus auf diese bis heute weniger bekannten Aspekte der japanischen Druckgeschichte legt. Das Buch enthält eine ausführliche Einführung in die Technik des Radierens und präsentiert über 150 Werke des Künstlers, die uns einladen, in die Stille und Harmonie der Landschaft Japans einzutauchen.
