The book is a memoir of his life in rural Maine. An illuminating portrait of life in a different era. Condition of the book is Very Good Plus. The binding is straight and sound. Inside pages are complete and unmarked.

Paper covers rubbed and soiled with several creases; some scuffing at edges and along joints; slight paper loss and tears at spine ends. Some soiling and a few scattered small stains to interior leaves with some creased/curled corners. Rust to staples but binding remains firm. Features b/w photos, articles, advertisements, etc. promoting tourism and recreation in the Maine woods (includes an August 1930 b/w "Map of Canoe Routes in Maine's Great North Country" (on page 77) all particularly directed to hunters and fisherman. Evidently a (mostly) annual guidebook published by the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad Company as OCLC locates holdings as early as 1902 and into the 1950s.
