Prima edizione
Presumed Century Company first edition (series of copyrights along with single line "Published, October, 1913" on title leaf verso with matching 1913 date at foot of title page) DATED AND SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. [16], 95 pages. Hardcover: H 19.75cm x L 15.75cm. Lacks dust jacket. Orange cloth soiled; slight fading to spine with slight cloth loss at bumped and frayed ends; board corners bumped. Past owner's ink signature at top of front pastedown; peeled remnant of bookseller ticket (likely Brentano's) at rear pastedown's bottom left; a few spots of scattered soiling to interior leaves with minor bumping/wear at fore-edge corners. Author's four-line black ink inscription "Merrily Yours | Ruth McEnery Stuart | Oct 30th | -1913-" on title page. Binding is firm. Dialect poetry by an immensely popular author of late 1800s and early 1900s but now rather obscure despite some renewed interest in Stuart's writing which exhibits early feminist leanings. Aforementioned series of copyright dates on title page verso likely indicative of various poems having been previously published.
