FYI, the selling point of Mr Ripley's novel is hardly the storyline (hangovers, racism) but the four plates. One is simulated shot of horseback revolutionaries, and the other three of Victor McLaglen being a towering ladies' man (whatta grin!) and a singleton of a young Humphrey Bogart being obsequious.

Set in a Central American country, adventurer McLaglen and sidekick Bogart find themselves in a fierce competition for a luscious young woman's attentions.
