The author, an American by birth and Christian by faith, takes a deep dive into the philosophy, tactics, and motives of this dangerous ideology. Their investigation reveals a network of European radicals attempting to stir up class hatred by dividing the country into "capitalists" and "workers" in order to incite a general strike and insurrection. The book also examines the Socialist's cynical exploitation of the labor movement and their ambitious plans to establish a totalitarian dictatorship, with themselves at the helm. By exposing their ultimate goal of abolishing churches and religious teachings, the author paints a vivid picture of the bleak future that awaits America should Socialism succeed. A must-read for anyone concerned about the fate of their country and the values it stands for. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. Neuware - 'The Red Web' is a seminal work of early 20th-century political analysis that explores the rise and influence of communist ideologies within the United States during the period known as the First Red Scare. Written by Blair Coan, the book provides a contemporary perspective on the perceived threats of Bolshevism and radicalism that emerged following the Russian Revolution. The text delves into the clandestine activities, organizations, and figures believed to be orchestrating a subversive movement aimed at undermining American institutions. Through its detailed examination of political unrest, labor strikes, and social upheaval, the work offers an invaluable historical window into the anxieties and political climate of the 1920s. As a document of its time, 'The Red Web' serves as a primary source for understanding the origins of anti-communist sentiment in America and the methods used to track and combat foreign influence. It remains an essential read for scholars of political science, American history, and the evolution of national security discourse. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Slim 12mo. hardcover in green cloth lettered in white. 95 pp. Deaccessioned from a seminary library with ususal interior marking but still a tight, otherwise internally clean example. Portion of the title lettering rubbed. From the introductory note by the author: "To the Leaders of the Socialist Party of the United States. This book contains absolute facts---you know it as well as I do but are trying to mislead the public.". It's followed by an additional note, ".To the People of the United States. In a safety deposit vault I have the proof for every assertion made in this book.". The author rants against what is perceived as the true aims of the Socialist Party---treason in times of war, control of the military, "free love", trade unions, its finances perticularly involving the 1908 presidential campaign of Eugene V.Debs, etc. A rather scarce example of Blair Coan's work. He would go on to become a U.S. Goverment agent under Attorney General Harry M. Daughtry and was virulent anti-Communist following the first "Red Scare" of the late teens and early 20s. His best known work was "The Red Web" (1925) about early Soviet penetration by the Russians into the U.S. government and particularly Senator Burton K. Wheeler.
