Beige printed wraps. 89 pp. A work written for the 1884 International Health Exhibition on London, examining rules and regulations that may pertain to housing of the poor with the goal of eliminating existing problems and preventing future 'evils.'. This includes chapters on cellar dwellings, new buildings, lodging houses and common lodging houses, labouring classes' lodging houses. GOOD condition. Small area of staining to the upper corner of the front wrap. Uneven darkening along the extremities, with minor scattered soiling. Head and tail of the spine chipped, with a 2 1/2 inch tear running along the upper front hinge, and a 1 inch tear along the lower front hinge. Lower rear corner clipped on the diagonal. Interior clean and solid.
