6.75 x 4.75", brown library buckram, 156pp, covers rubbed and soiled, hinges loose, EX-LIBRARY with usual markings, pp with some scattered pencil underlining and finger soil else a decent copy of the FIRST EDITION, WITH FULL PAGE CALLIGRAPHED INSCRIPTION ("To The Hon. Wilson McCandless Judge of the District Court.With the Friendly Regards and Cherished Recollections of The Author", dated Cincinnati, Oct. 1872; inscribed page is cut closely at foredge with some loss of text. McCandless was a long-time judge in Pittsburgh, and the city of McCandless, PA is named for him.
