Paperback. Condizione: Good. With so many people discovering Anglicanism today, especially younger people yearning for a connection with the Early Church, there is great need of this delightful book telling Anglicanism's story from its early roots to today's relevance. Reformation Anglicanism by Chuck Collins traces the history and practice of a group of believers who form the largest protestant denomination in the world. Collins gives just the facts, letting the power of Anglican spirituality draw his readers to this authentic and gracious way to be a disciple of Jesus Christ. Winner of 1st place prizes in national short story and poetry contests, Collins renders the Christian faith as reachable and understandable as it really is. He shows the winsome beauty of God's character that is deeply embedded in Anglican worship and prayers, and that what sets Anglicanism apart is that it is generously orthodox, completely biblical and liturgically beautiful. For example, Anglicanism believes the Bible is God's inspired revelation without saying it speaks to every earthly thing, that grace is given in Holy Communion without insisting God is bodily present in the bread and wine, that our nature is affected by sin without saying we are worthless, and explains the reality of heaven and hell by saying what the Bible says: that God destines Christians to life. Collins shows that the16th Century English reformers didn't want to start something new; they only wanted to return the Church to the ancient Christianity from which the Medieval Church had departed - so that at its core Anglicanism is a container for Christian truth to pass along from generation to generation. It is a compassionate and gracious view of doctrine and morals that sets this church apart, but generosity doesn't mean anything goes. Collins makes it clear that Anglicanism is defined and guided by the Bible, and that the church that stands for nothing will fall for anything. In sum: 1.    In sum Reformation Anglicanism is the story of the World's largest Protestant group from its early roots to today's relevance. 2. Even Billy Graham says if he were "starting all over again (he) would be an evangelical Anglican." [Source: America's Pastor by historian Grant Wacker, Harvard University Press, November 2014] Evangelical and Reformation Anglicanism are one and the same. 3.  Authored by an Anglican Priest and winner of National 1st place poetry and short story prizes. 4.    Blurbed by luminaries including renowned theologian J.I. Packer and Foley Beach, Archbishop of the Anglican Church in North America. J.I. Packer is General Editor of the English Standard Version of the Bible and the author of dozens of books in print. 5. Of worldwide interest to Anglicans and Christian seekers. 6. Handsomely designed with top quality cover and paper stock.
