Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the fascinating world of printing, exploring its evolution, techniques, and artistry. The author examines the transformation of illustration in the late nineteenth century, highlighting the role of Alexander W. Drake, a pioneer in the development of black and white illustration. Drake, as superintendent of the Century Magazine Art Department, led the charge against restrictive artistic conventions, fostering a new generation of American illustrators. The book discusses the shift from traditional wood engraving to the use of paper and photography, opening the door to a wider range of artistic styles and techniques. The author also delves into the practical aspects of printing, providing insights into the technicalities of typesetting, engraving, and color printing. The author's insightful analysis of Drake's achievements offers a captivating perspective on the evolution of visual art and its impact on printing during a pivotal era. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
