Hardcover. Condizione: Good -. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Good Minus condition Hardcover Quarto, 1946, 1st edition. This volume has the patented Compton "Dura-Bound" covers, which are like a 3-ring binder, except flush and square like a book and the pages are held with screw-in connectors. The cover has a brown leatherette bonded material covering it. The front board has a 2" W x 3" H embossed decoration. Book is indexed with 6 tabs (keys). Gilt page edges, all three sides. Representing wartime publishing history long past, this book in not only a antique book, it is a peice of history itself. CONDITION : The Covers have some shelfwear and some vertical bending aligning with the sides of the embossed picture on the front board, the back board has a vertical bend too. The interior seems nice and bright for it's age, and the special binding is really good. The sixth tab has a small 1.5 inch piece of cloth tape reenforcement added to it a long time ago. Although this tape has left a peeled residue on the neighboring pages, the tape is in place, and not that bad. Size: 4to - over 9" - 12" tall. Book.
