Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. Published by Chatto and Windus in 1875, here is the first hardback printing of Wilkie Collins' ANTONINA: or THE FALL OF ROME (New Edition) illustrated by Alfred Concanen. Green cloth binding, gilt, black and green decoration and lettering, 420 pages plus a 32 page catalogue of other Chatto… and Windus publications the book is in good condition (which should have been very good to near fine) has it not been for an inexplicable 1 inch tear to the half title page near the base. There is also some foxing/ browning to the first few pages and to the outside of the page edges and the name of a previous owner stamped in purple ink to the top of the full title page. Revered Oxford scholar Anthony Cockshut has also written his name in pencil to the front free end paper. Otherwise the covers are beautiful and the illustrations are bright and vibrant. A very decent offering.
