Published in conjunction with an exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, October 3, 2009 to January 10, 2010. - - - (Catalogue of… the Collection, 1.) - - - Art dealer and collector Heinz Teufel, who died in 2007, was one of the great patrons of Concrete Art in Germany. From the time he opened his gallery in 1966 in Koblenz until his period in Berlin in 1998, the gallery maintained a strict profile, regardless of the varying trends on the art market. The collection he and his wife Anette assembled, which contains works by nearly fifty prominent artists, became part of the permanent collection of the Kunstmuseum Stuttgart in 2009. This group of about two hundred paintings, numerous sculptures, and an extensive inventory of prints provides an overview of Concrete works created throughout Europe after World War II. The collection's special quality lies in the inclusion of Eastern European, Italian, and French artists, such as Zdenek Skora, Antonio Calderara, and Aurelie Nemours, whose works are rarely seen in museums. However, there are also ''Swiss classics'' such as Max Bill and Richard Paul Lohse, as well as outstanding works by the important artist Bridget Riley.

Olle Bonniér, Pierre Olofsson, Karl Axel Pehrson och Arne Jones deltog i denna utställning, som mer än någon annan proklamerade den konkreta konsten och blev ett definitivt genombrott för deltagarna. Samma år genomfördes också Världssportutställningen och i tidskriften Prisma publicerade Olle Bonniér ett berömt manifest." - - - Hans Eklunds inledning: "Ordet konkret i samband med bildkonst har ofta och tidigare inneburit detsamma som en naturalistisk bildform. Ett konstnärligt verk bör emellertid betraktas som konkret när det är en renodlat konstnärlig verklighet, oberoende av naturen som förebild. Ty som den konkreta konstens motsats kan man ställa en abstrakt (vare sig figurativ eller non-figurativ), vilken i sina kompositioner abstraherar eller idémässigt rör sig med naturobjekt. Den konkret arbetande konstnären komponerar inte med element som föreställer något. För honom blir inte längre omvärldens synliga beståndsdelar upplevelsen utan de rent konstnärliga idéerna om rörelse och färgförlopp. Det konkreta verket utesluter inte det spontana på grund av sin formstränghet, men lika mycket här som i musikaliskt verk är en genomförd kompositionell behandling nödvändig för funna temata. Begreppet konkret har fått en preciserad betydelse. På exakt samma sätt har värdet realistisk getts en ny innebörd. Realismen gäller inte längre här som trohet mot naturförebilder. Verkligheten avser de rena bildvärdena. Ny realism och ny realitet siktar på ett mera omfattande och påtagligt uttryck.".
