Trade Paperback. Condizione: New. First Edition. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Signed by the artist. A comprehensive look at the life and work of Carl Montford, long considered the dean of Northwest wood engravers. With over 200 illustrations, this book includes a catalogue raisonné of his wood engravings with other selected relief prints, produced over Montford's nearly five decade career. At once inviting and intimate, Montford's oeuvre will be a lasting joy for both newcomers and seasoned practitioners of printmaking. Introduced with an essay by Phil Bevis and Connie Fu, this title offers the first-ever retrospective presentation of Montford's work, including the artist's anecdotes to illuminate key pieces, and glimpses into the evolution of images on the block.200 b/w Illustrations.
