Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Fine. Kathleen Peterson (illustratore). 1st Edition. This much admired picture book seems to reach success on a number of different levels. There's the gentle, lyrical text; the vibrant and colorful pictures; the appreciation of nature; the reference to Hawaiian legend; the lessons that children can learn about the natural world, poetry, and the Hawaiian language. A few pages at the end of the book explain much of this to the adults. An excellent picture book. There are just a few faint spots to some of the prelims, but otherwise a fine copy in fine dust jacket.
