From typewritten note on ffep: "Dr. Jabex Gwinnup, 1773-1843, was the first doctor to practice medicine at Deleward Station, N. J., and was there many years having a large practice. His son, Alfred Gwinnup, lived at Walnut Valley, near the Paulins Kill. The doctor built a large home at Deleward, which was afterward known for many years as the Hemingway House, and it is standing still, in 1938." Dr. John C.
