Aside from the gift inscription, no writing or markings were observed. The original cloth-backed boards are clean and attractive, displaying only minor shelf wear, a faint spot near the upper rear board, and a small bump with light rubbing at the lower rear corner. The original dust jacket is in Very Good condition, complete and not price-clipped, exhibiting moderate edge wear, several short closed tears and creases at the spine ends and corners, light surface rubbing, and age toning with some moisture staining visible on the reverse of the jacket that does not significantly affect its front presentation. Peter Martins (born 1946) is a Danish-born ballet dancer, choreographer, and former Ballet Master in Chief of the New York City Ballet. After training at the Royal Danish Ballet School, he joined the New York City Ballet in 1970, where he became one of George Balanchine's most celebrated principal dancers.
