Book has been rebound by library, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed.

First edition thus. 23pp. William James Couper (1864-1938) was senior minister of Macmillan Church, Glasgow, a noted writer on bibliography and one of the founders of the Glasgow Bibliographical Society. This booklet is a short bibliographical paper on Dr Johnson in the Hebrides, and we understand that it may have first appeared in the pages of 'Celtic Monthly'. The booklet is staple-bound in the original dark grey thin card covers with no titling on the covers. The covers have shelf wear with some soiling to the covers and bumping to the corners and spine ends with a little loss at the spine ends. The contents are clean apart from a few small marks. The staple binding the booklet is rusted and this has caused pages 3 to 22 to become separated. There is no inscription.
