Spotting and staining throughout. Edme-Bonaventure Courtois (1754-1816) was born in Troyes, France. He was involved with the coup leading to the fall of Robespierre. He was elected to the Legislature as Deputy of the Aube region and the National Convention in 1787. He was among the group that took an inventory of Robespirre's papers, including Marie Antoinette's will. The collection contained works by Voltaire, Rousseau, Locke, Bacon,and Pope.…
