Paperback large octavo, very good condition, stapled pamphlet (staples little rusted), card covers, few small black & white drawings (vignettes), minimal edgewear. 26 pp. This letter was first published in July 1789 in the 'Edinburgh Magazine' and was written by Edward Home, a carpenter on the First Fleet ship the 'Charlotte'. After the ship discharged its convicts and stores in Sydney, it and the 'Scarborough' departed for Canton in China to collect a cargo of tea and then return to England.
