Sequel to the author's popular first book, "Play Ball, Son!", in 274 pages with profuse black-and-white photos on glossy paper throughout text. Dunne (1903-1966) has SIGNED this copy with a personalized inscription on the ffep to a youngster, Al Benton, follow…ed by a penciled note from the recipient detailing how he received the book in 1951 when he was a "visiting clubhouse boy in San Diego P.C.L." Benton would go on to become a major league baseball player himself, so this is a scarce association copy between two baseball greats! Orig. published in 1947, this is a 1951 printing of that First Edition. Hardcover small 8vo has light blue cloth-covered boards stamped with black lettering & front & spine. Because of external rubbing & soiling, condition is downgraded to Fair. Interior is generally quite clean, with a few random spots. Pages tanned with some light pencil underlining & marginal notes.
