Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book is a play that introduces us to Mary Prescott, a distinguished and recently appointed woman to the United Nations, tasked with representing the United States. The play is set amidst the political tensions of the Cold War, as a debate rages on whether the Soviet Union intends to negotiate its nuclear capabilities. Mary Prescott finds herself at the center of a crisis when a former lover and a senior Czech official, Jan Capek, arrives at her apartment seeking asylum. With his sudden death later that night, Mary must grapple with the implications of his presence and the potential consequences for the peace negotiations. This book explores the complex interplay of politics, morality, and the personal cost of international diplomacy. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
