No one has ever done that - not the bravest of the cave dwellers, not the mightiest of the hunters. And among these men of long ago no one believes it is possible to ride a horse-except the boy Vuldar. Pers Crowell, 1910- 1965, was born in Eastern Washington and was greatly influenced by the rural geography of his small town which instilled his passion for horses. He graduated from Pasco High School and studied at the Phoenix Art Institute and later attended Chouinard's in Los Angeles. He worked at an advertising agency in Portland, Oregon, where his relationship with horses were a vital element in his daily life as well as in his artistic career and thus soon became his primary artistic subject. McGraw-Hill published his first book in 1945 and four others followed--all about horses, in addition to the illustration of forty or more stories by other authors.

Mass Market Paperback. Children's. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. This mass market sized paperback book is an illustrated animal story for younger readers. This copy is in good condition with only minor wear. The covers look good with only a little wear on the faces and around the edges. The spine is tight with little wear and no creases showing on the outer spine. The pages are just starting to turn a light shade of tan and have little wear and few marks. The illustrations are great and are helpful to following the story. 122 pages.

Pers Crowell (illustratore). An excellent copy. Inside corner of dust jacket is price clipped. Sewn binding is tight with no visible wear. Corners are crisp with no bumping. Colors are bright and crisp, no staining, no markings on inside pages. The dust jacket has a small tear on the bottom of the back and a chunk missing at top of the back.
