Soft cover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. Minor edge and corner wear; lightly scuffed and scratched; spine is gently creased; some light shelf wear; overall a very crisp and clean used copy! Decorative gray wrapper with red and black lettering. 62 very clean unmarked and uncreased historical and informative pages! "The papers contained in this volume were first presented on June 20, 21, and 22, 1968 in the symposium on "Development and Change in Traditional Agriculture: Focus on South Asia" held at Michigan State University and sponsored by the Asian Studies Center. Coming as it did at the beginning of the University's summer term, the symposium served to inaugurate several different activities. During the summer of 1968, Michigan State University was host to the Inter-University Rotating Summer Program in South Asian Studies, a cooperative scholarly enterprise sponsored by the South Asia Language and Area Centers in universities belonging to the Committee on Institutional Cooperation. Student and faculty participants in this program, many of them from disciplines not connected with problems of economic and agricultural development, were regular members of the audience and enthusiastic participants in the discussions at symposium sessions. One of the special seminars held twice weekly throughout the term as a part of the South Asia Summer Program dealt with Problems of Rural Development in India and Pakistan. This seminar, under the chairmanship of Professor Harry M. Rauler, Jr., of the Department of Anthropology, was also inaugurated by the symposium Like the symposium, it attracted a wide, multidisciplinary audience and was addressed by a similarly diverse series of guest lecturers." ---- from the Introduction.

Hardcover. Condizione: Near Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good Plus. 1st Edition. First Printing as confirmed by McBride. The book would be fine save for shelf wear along bottom of boards and text block, slight translucent spotting of front lower text block. Else book is free of internal marking, spine is tight, boards rigid and tips are pointed. While the jacket has its price on the back flap, it has general wear all over, loss and small chipping at most edges, especially along spine and at top and bottom of spine. Actually looks quite smart in its shiny new plastic cover. Shipping box is suitable for wrapping with a non-price listed purchase order inside along with biodegradable packing.
