Nick's debut book Tales of The Honey Badger was the runaway humour and sport bestseller of 2015 and he's back in 2016 with a bumper book of yarns and tall stories. Packed with Nick's sensational sayings, ripper yarns and pure Aussie wisdom, this new book is a charming collection of stories celebrating the importance of family, mates, rugby, getting out amongst it (i.e. seeing the world) and pen-portraits of 'buggers I've run into'. Nick's fantastically hilarious stories include: a spot of helicopter fishing in the Kimberley and Northern Territory with the old man; lending a coaching hand to the Norwegian Rugby team; passing on some Rugby insights to the Thai netball team; and rambling tales of life in the Cummins clan. You won't want to miss it. Hold onto your hat, it's going to be a bonza year. Paperback.

Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. The book and jacket are in very good condition, minor shelf rubbing. Text and images inside appear clean, clear, and bright throughout. 'This book examines the work of Barbadian artists over six decades, from the period of the 1930s which was dominated by the Eurocentric perspective, to the challenging voice of Afro-Barbadian youth of the 1990s. It represents a fist attempt to provide a framework for the conceptualization and interpretation of Barbadian art and serves to correct the ethnocentric image of Barbados as a culturally deficient community. The two opening chapters, "Right little, tight little island" and "Island in the Sun", focus on the work of the pioneer artists and their struggle to establish themselves in a conservative Barbadian society still dominated by the remnants of the old plantocracy. Chapters three and four examine the decades following the 1950s which witnessed an influx of expatriate artists whose work was to influence the local art movement, even as young Barbadian nationals were leaving the country to seek professional training overseas. The final two chapters examine the work of these young returning artists and the organisation and development of the art industry in response to the changing perspective of both artist and art market. The result is an evolving indigenous Bajan vision now recognised and respected internationally.' 270 pages. 7.8 x 10.5 inches. May require additional postage.
