Second Revised Edition. A "Birthday Note" book designed to record birthdays of friends, and relatives. Each day of the year is represented on facing pages, with versos recording notable musician birthdays on that date with a short musical notation, or an epigram or quote and the facing recto page space blank for the owner to record details relating to the person whose birth date they share with that musician. This copy belonged to William D Spark of Newcastle-upon-Tyne with his ownership signature. Spark collected over 150 autographs in his book including many famous musicians and actors. Spark himself signed the book noting he was a "Solo Bass". At the rear of the book Spark has written an index of the autographs arranged by profession. 8vo., original publishers black pebble-grain leather. Binding a little worn, otherwise a very good copy. The list of autographs is a smorgasbord of Edwardian culture. Actors and actresses include: Sarah Bernhardt, Ellen Terry, Henry Irving, Herbert Beerbohm Tree, Maud Beerbohm Tree, Viola Beerbohm Tree, Lillie Langtree, Forbes Robertson, Ellaline Terriss Hicks and Edward Terry.
