Octavo; xii, 304 pp. Two-color illustrated title page spread, with map and black and white illustrations throughout. Illustrated dust jacket with $3.50 price intact; book in beige cloth with green lettering. Jacket split cleanly down front joint at fold, with chipping to spine ends, rubbing and shallow chips along edges, and a small dampstain over tail of spine. Boards bumped at corners with toning to spine and a quarter-sized waterspot to front. Spine a bit rolled. Binding is sound and pages unmarked. The Vermont preservationist's paean to one of the state's great rivers. Prior owner Richard Spong was a long-time associate editor with Editorial Research Reports and later a freelance editorial page writer for The Washington Post. He wrote one novel, See If He Wins, set in postwar Paris.
