It is illustrated by Wendell Hill. The games consists of 4-10 players controlling one of the various forces of Middle-Earth: Halflings, Dwarves, Elves, Black Riders, Goblins and so on. The object of the game is to deliver the One Ring to the Crack of Darkness. The game is based on The Lord of the Rings with the geographical locations having slight spelling changes such as Myrkwood or Rivergard.
