Prima edizione
First edition. Ca. 50p, no ills. but many family tables. Presentation from Danford to army surgeon Major D.W. McEnery. The front cover reads "Photographs." This the only book I know of that collates the families of these three breeds. It traces most of the prominent male lines to the traditional three foundation Thoroughbred sires: Thoroughbreds to the Eclipse line, Standardbreds chiefly to the Hambletonian/Mambrino line descending from the Darley Arabian, and American Saddle Horses to the Denmark F.S., Chief, and Morgan lines descending from the Darley Arabian and Byerly Turk. There are also shorter lists of the Morgan, Clay, Tom Rolfe, Pilot, and Tom Hall family lines for Standardbreds, and a page of "minor families" for the American Saddle Horse. Index of all the Thoroughbreds. Very scarce (not in WorldCat or Wells). Very good (occasional pencil checkmarks) Soft cover, placed by former owner into a photograph album.
