Includes Biographical Note and "A Few Technicalities" concerning Russian names, the translator's approach to rhymed poetry, etc. Frontispiece portrait of Lermontov. The collection does NOT include A Hero of Our Time; it DOES include the long poems The Tambov Treasurer's Wife and A Song about Tsar Ivan Vasilyevich [et al.], the novel Princess Ligovskaya, the play The Strange One, and around 20 of the lyric poems Lermonotov wrote during his 26 years of life. 8vo, blue cloth sunned on spine and in a 1-1/2" strip along top and fore-edge (front and back boards), rubbed silver gilt lettering, faded blue topstain, light shelf wear, very faint foxing to end papers, page-turning soil.
