Der Augsburger Jakob Brucker (1696-1770) wirkte von 1724 bis 1744 als evangelischer Geistlicher und als Rektor der Lateinschule in Kaufbeuren bevor er nach Augsburg zurückkehrte, neben einer Fülle von historischen und theologischen Arbeiten liegt seine Bedeutung vor allem in bahnbrechenden philosophiegeschichtlichen Werken. - Mit prachtvollem Frontispiz von J. A. Friedrich (das alte und das neue Rathaus in reicher allegorischer Umrahmung), drei Tafeln mit schönen Darstellungen zur Erwerbung des Zunftregiments 1368, die weiteren Tafeln zeigen Geschlechter- und Zunftwappen sowie Siegel. +++ Perg.Ebd. d.
