Originally written in Greek by the first century C.E. philosopher and theologian Philo of Alexandria, this English language text is based on the19th century translation of C. D. Yonge, but with parts of the text rearranged to conform to the order of the Cohn-Welland text used in the bilingual Loeb Classical Library edition, with the current text keyed to the numbering system used in the Loeb edition. Foreword and keying by David M. Schuler. Also included are the Foreword to the original Yonge edition, two appendices of translations of texts not used by Yonge, a subject index, an index of Scriptures cited, and maps.
