A nice copy, bound in a cream card with gilt labels with black lettering to the upper and spine. Spine shows slight wear to crown and foot but good. Boards are in good condition but soiled. Dust jacket is in fairly good condition and intact but grubby and soiled with some chipping to spine, edges and corners. The untrimmed pages of handmade paper are free from notations and major markings and are good. Edges are lightly tanned and soiled with age. an inscription in pencil on prelim is from one of the Bone family at Xmas 1922, probably that of the artist and writer on Anglo-Saxon literature, Gavin Bone or his brother Stephen.
