Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book recounts the nearly 150-year history of the town of Salisbury, New Hampshire. Situated on the west bank of the Merrimack River, Salisbury was officially settled in 1765, though homesteaders had been claiming land in the area since the late 1600s. During the American Revolution, Salisbury was on the front lines, repelling attacks from British regulars and their Native American allies. The book also discusses the town's role in the abolitionist movement, and its contributions to the arts and sciences through its many notable residents. A rich and multifaceted story, the history of Salisbury is presented here in detail, shedding light on a small town whose history mirrors that of the nation it helped to build. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.…
