This is, of course, a model of the 'old' Yankee Stadium, as the new stadium opened in 2009. The packaging outer dimensions are approximately 6 inches by 10 inches by 20 inches. The model is in a styrofoam box. This is offered 'as new' because upon inspection it appears that the original packaging around the model is intact. It is the policy of Department 56 that at the end of each year means the retirement of some of our most beloved products. Each year, certain pieces are selected to be retired from production. Once that decision has been made, the mold is broken. This limits the number of pieces. This model of Yankee Stadium has been out of production for over a decade and has had an active 'afterlife' in the retired collectibles market.
