The lithographs throughout this book are magnificent and could be harvested and sold as Audubon prints as some print dealers will do. Most lithographs are full page. Interior is clean all the way. A primarily visual look at sites, cities, landscapes and people around the world, compiled in light of the Columbian Exposition, or 1893 World's Fair held in Chicago. Photographs with descriptive commentary. This includes places and sites such as: The Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Garden of the Gods in Colorado, Alaska, San Francisco and its Chinatown, Nicaragua Canal in Central America, opium smokers in China, Hawaii (Sandwich Islands), Japan, Syria, Palestine, Egypt and the Sphinx, Cairo, and many cities in Europe. GOOD condition. Heavy fading, scuffing and edgewear to the covers, with the cloth scuffed, frayed and worn along the extremities and spine. Mostly minor soiling, with moderate staining and discoloration to the rear cover. Interior hinges weak but holding. Text block solid. Paper browned. Faint dampstain along the upper edge and fore edge.
