Aggiungi al carrelloSoftcover. Condizione: Near Fine. First Edition. [a really nice copy, with the only flaw being a faint vertical scratch line on the front cover; otherwise clean and tight, virtually as-new]. Trade PB (B&W photographs, facsimiles) Published at a time when the "spaghetti Western" subgenre was already well into its decline, this wa…s (I believe) the first book on the topic to be published (at least in English). Although heavily photo-illustrated, with a relatively minimal text, it has the advantage of being nearly contemporaneous with the films themselves, unlike much of the extensive and more academic scholarship that's followed. Particularly notable is the book's second half, which devotes considerable attention to the importance of the music in the films. (I'm moderately confused about the publisher statement, which appears on the copyright page as indicated (Lorrimer/Futura), but which on the title page of the book and the spine is simply stated as "Odeon."). Illustrated by (cover design) JWA Designs (illustratore).
