This item is printed on demand - it takes 3-4 days longer - Neuware -It is a very nice book in which the authors describe, micro-alloyed SS316LN steels are expected to improved mechanical properties, compared to other steels, at liquid Helium temperature (i.e. 4K) and hence suitable for cryogenic applications such as: jacket materials for superconductor wires/strands. In this work micro-alloyed SS316LN is prepared in a vacuum induction melting furnace; Niobium and molybdenum in their ferroalloy stage are considered as alloying element. These micro-alloyed steels are then subjected to cold rolling and heat treatment to minimize stress and defects in cast ingots. Then after doing the various characterizations (XRD, SEM, EDS, Optical microscopy etc),chemical test (OES) and mechanical tests (Tensile test & Hardness) test it is found that these steels are more suitable for jacket materials for superconductor wires/strands. 104 pp. Englisch.…

Excessive amount of research is being carried out to develop even better properties. Austempererd ductile iron is the most recent development in the area of ductile iron or S.G. iron. This is formed by an isothermal heat treatment of the ductile iron. The newly developed austempered ductile iron is now replacing steel in many fields so it has becoming very important to various aspects of this material. In the present work the effect of copper along with the process variables (austempering temperature and austempering time) on the properties (Hardness, Tensile strength and Elongation) and microstructure of ductile iron is studied. With increasing austempering time hardness, tensile strength and elongation are increasing but with increasing austempering temperature hardness and tensile strength are decreasing and elongation increasing. Austempered ductile iron with copper is showing some higher strength, hardness and lower elongation than the austempered ductile iron without copper. In microstructure ferrite is increasing.…

Dans le présent travail, l'effet du cuivre ainsi que les variables du processus (température et durée d'austénitisation) sur les propriétés (dureté, résistance à la traction et allongement) et la microstructure de la fonte ductile sont étudiés. Avec l'augmentation du temps de trempe isotherme, la dureté, la résistance à la traction et l'allongement augmentent, mais avec l'augmentation de la température de trempe isotherme, la dureté et la résistance à la traction diminuent et l'allongement augmente. La fonte ductile austemperée avec du cuivre présente une résistance et une dureté plus élevées et un allongement plus faible que la fonte ductile austemperée sans cuivre. Es wird intensiv geforscht, um noch bessere Eigenschaften zu entwickeln. Austemperiertes duktiles Gusseisen ist die neueste Entwicklung im Bereich des duktilen Gusseisens oder S.G.-Gusseisens. Es entsteht durch eine isothermische Wärmebehandlung des duktilen Gusseisens. Das neu entwickelte austemperierte duktile Gusseisen ersetzt mittlerweile in vielen Bereichen Stahl, sodass es für verschiedene Aspekte dieses Materials sehr wichtig geworden ist. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wird der Einfluss von Kupfer zusammen mit den Prozessvariablen (Austemperierungstemperatur und Austemperierungszeit) auf die Eigenschaften (Härte, Zugfestigkeit und Dehnung) und die Mikrostruktur von duktilen Gusseisen untersucht. Mit zunehmender Austemperierungzeit nehmen Härte, Zugfestigkeit und Dehnung zu, während mit zunehmender Austemperierungstemperatur Härte und Zugfestigkeit abnehmen und die Dehnung zunimmt. Austemperiertes duktiles Gusseisen mit Kupfer weist eine etwas höhere Festigkeit und Härte sowie eine geringere Dehnung auf als austemperiertes duktiles Gusseisen ohne Kupfer. In der Mikrostruktur nimmt der Ferritanteil zu.…
