Professionally repaired as to front and back end-papers and gutters. In original boards covered in plain brown paper with paper label on spine. Boards are soiled and a bit stained overall, back panel has fox-like spotting. Fore-edge corners are bumped and rubbed through, as well as adjacent edges. Spine gutters are cracked but solid due to repairs. Edges at head and tail of board spine are chipped and fraying, with most of the edge at head of spine missing, approx. 1/4". External page edges are age- and soil-darkened. External side edges are untrimmed. Pages in this volume number 557-982. Several illustrations including frontispiece. Internal foxing limited to the first several and last several pages. Text block is sound due to repairs. Please use close-up options for best inspection and in support of condition description.
