Once in a while, he sneakily inserts some devastatingly wise and practical detail on how to catch a particular fish (even a very particular fish) or how to bag some elusive game, but you'll find a lot more here on the fisherman than the fished, more on the hunter than the hunted, more on the camper than on campsites. People remain Charley's obsession -- people in the outdoors. His wisdom, insights, nostalgia, and humor are as fresh as ever. Fresher, maybe. Fresh is very important to Charley, and he doesn't have much use for freezer-burned outdoor literature.
