In this work, the authors aim to characterize the emission rates of this gas in the soil within the Atlantic Forest, in the area of the Edmundo Navarro de Andrade State Forest (municipality of Rio Claro, São Paulo, Brazil), also seeking to correlate these emissions with atmospheric and physical-chemical soil parameters (pressure, air and soil temperature, air and soil humidity, soil thermal conductivity and C/N ratio). For the measurements, they use an infrared gas analyzer (IRGA), model Li-840 of the Li-Cor brand, coupled to a dynamic chamber, by means of a circulation pump developed at the Physics Department of UNESP Rio Claro, demonstrating that economical and homemade alternatives can be used to measure carbon dioxide emissions.
