Condizione: GOOD. First printing. The Dionne quintuplets - Marie, Cecile, Emilie, Yvonne and Annette - were removed from their parents by the Canadian government after their birth and made wards of the Ontario government (they were returned to their parents in 1943.) This book emphasizes how healthy they are and how well they are developing in the protective environment set up for them (complete with a viewing area for visitors). Full of photographs of the undeniably cute girls, mostly at play. Square format soft cover. Fair condition only (missing rear cover, and some "hand-coloring" in crayon of the first three photographs.).

Many charming photos of the Dionne quintuplets accompanied by text intended to teach a beginning reader new words; binding firm; in absence of d.j. the photographic boards are faded, the corners bumped and the crown and foot of the spine are abraded.

Condizione: Very good. - Quarto. 15 words typed on a splendid illustrated sheet of letterhead headed "The Dionne Quintuplet Guardianship" with a color image of the heads of the quintuplets superimposed on a maple leaf and an outline map of Ontario, marking the location of Callander with a red star. Signed "Allan Roy Dafoe". There is light creasing to the bottom corners of the letter with the left corner slightly darkened. Folded once for mailing. Very good. Dr. Allan Roy Dafoe [1883-1943] sends this signed letter to a correspondent who has asked for his autograph. The Canadian obstetrician delivered and cared for the Dionnes, the first quintuplets known to have survived early infancy.
