Epicotyl grafting is cheaper and quick method of propagation with a success rate of 75.80 %. Moreover, it is more preferable for high density planting due to erect growth habit and uniform appearance as compared to approach grafting. In epicotyl grafts, newly emerged leaves of mango grafts will fall down after two of months. It might be due to the less combining activity of cambium union at scion and rootstock joint and at the same time transpiration rate may be more from leaves and it generates pressure on xylem vessels for gaining water loss in order to reduce transpiration loss from grafts ultimately plant will drop off leaves which leading to lesser survival of grafts at the end. Owing to the problems among the nurserymen and farmers of south Gujarat, a study has been conducted to know effect of antitranspirants on growth and survival of epicotyl grafts of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Kesar after successful sprouting. Based on the results of the experiment it can be concluded that the spray of Kaolin (2.5%) showed superior results in compare to other antitranspirants.…

El injerto de epicótilo es un método de propagación más barato y rápido, con una tasa de éxito del 75,80%. Por otra parte, es más preferible para la plantación de alta densidad debido al hábito de crecimiento erecto y aspecto uniforme en comparación con el injerto de aproximación. En los injertos de epicótilo, las hojas recién emergidas de los injertos de mango se caen después de dos meses. Esto puede ser debido a la menor actividad de combinación de la unión del cambium en la púa y el portainjerto y al mismo tiempo la tasa de transpiración de las hojas puede ser mayor y genera presión en los vasos del xilema para ganar pérdida de agua con el fin de reducir la pérdida de transpiración de los injertos en última instancia, la planta dejará caer las hojas lo que conduce a una menor supervivencia de los injertos al final. Debido a los problemas entre los viveristas y los agricultores del sur de Gujarat, se ha realizado un estudio para conocer el efecto de los antitranspirantes en el crecimiento y la supervivencia de los injertos de epicótilo de mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Kesar después de la germinación exitosa.
