In the 1980s, when Pinochet was in power, Dittborn made collages of appropriated images o…n lightweight panels, which he called "paintings." Each panel was folded and placed in an envelope with the label, AIRMAIL PAINTINGS BY DITTBORN, then slipped out of the country for exhibition. The works addressed a range of political and anthropological themes at a time of maximum national intolerance. Store ID#: O-RE1997P-A. Book.
