Eight 7 inch wide by 9 inch tall very clean color prints of insects on cardstock paper, and eight 10 x 8 inch black and white glossy photos from Union Carbide Corporation Agricultural Products Division. Prints consist of: (1) Green Peach Aphid; (2) Root Knot Nematode; (3) Colorado Potato Beetle; (4) Corn Earworm; (5) Western Corn Rootworm Beetle; (7) Two Spotted Mite; and (8) Lygus Bug. Glossy photos: (1) Corn earworm; (2) Tent caterpillar; (3) Japanese beetle and beetle damage; (4) Mexican bean beetle; (5) Apple worm and apple worm damage; (6) Leafhopper and leafhopper lawn damage; (7) Sod webworm; and (8) Cutworm and cutworm damage. Contents laid into a brown cardstock portfolio with Union Carbide title in blind on front panel. Note: We suspect this to be an incomplete set of prints and have tried to set our price accordingly (less than a dollar each). The prints are in Very Good to Fine condition; the photos are about Very Good with just a bit of handling wear. The portfolio has a bit of shelf wear, with light bumping and creasing at tips. We have inserted the whole into a clear Ultra-Pro sleeve for future protection.

There are mathematical formulae and a large number of numerical values presented. There is only a limited amount of text. K-25 was the codename given by the Manhattan Project during World War II for the project to produce enriched uranium for atomic bombs using the gaseous diffusion method. Over time it came to refer to the production facility located at the Clinton Engineer Works in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, the main gaseous diffusion building, and ultimately the site. When it was built in 1944, the four-story K-25 gaseous diffusion plant was the world's largest building, with over 1,640,000 square feet of floor space and a volume of 97,500,000 cubic feet . The highly corrosive uranium hexafluoride (UF6) was the only known compound of uranium sufficiently volatile to be used in this process. Slightly enriched product from the S-50 thermal diffusion plant was fed into the K-25 gaseous diffusion plant. The enriched uranium was used in the Little Boy atomic bomb used in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. In 1946, the K-25 gaseous diffusion plant became capable of producing highly enriched product. After the war four more gaseous diffusion plants were added to the site, named K-27, K-29, K-31 and K-33. The K-25 site was renamed the Oak Ridge Gaseous Diffusion Plant in 1955. Production of enriched uranium ended in 1964. Presumed First Edition, First printing thus.
