Staplebound softcover, 8 1/4 x 10 1/2 inches, 80 pp, well illustrated with black and white photographs, centerfold map, and a few drawings, with a color front cover drawing showing the trylon and perisphere on an unmarked map of Long Island. Very good. Moderate shelf wear, covers a bit scuffed and rubbed along edges, with a 1/2 inch chip and scrape of lower edge of front cover, a 1inch tear on lower edge of fold of spine, several lesser nicks and chips, paper lightly age yellowed along edges, otherwise tight, clean, paper crisp, unmarked. Promotional book issued in conjunction with the 1939 New York World's Fair, with a general overview of the history, roads, bridges, attractions, industires, aviation, farming, fishing, etc. Of Long Island, followed by more specific information on the larger towns. Nice memento of the days before suburban sprawl, with some interestingfphotos of scattered cars on the uncrowded parkways, and a fox hunt in Meadow Brook. Travel; history; ephemera.
