This is an early edition of this work, in original publisher's cloth binding with a boat motif to the front board, in original, very scarce, unclipped dust wrapper. The work was first published in the same year. This work was written by British author Captain Henry Taprell Dorling, who wrote under the name Taffrail. Dorling served in the Royal Navy during World War One and Two, with his experiences at this time giving major influence to his novels. This particular work is dedicated to everyone Dorling served with, commencing with The Song of the Navy. A Little Ship is set during the First World War, following the journey of the ship and the adventures and people on board. This work is illustrated with vignettes throughout by H. R. J. In original publisher's cloth binding with unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent, with minor shelf wear only. Light bumping to the extremities and the occasional mark to boards. Dust wrapper in very good condition, with slight chipping to the extremities and the odd closed tear. Light sunning to the wrap with the odd mark. Internally firmly bound. Pages bright and clean with light age toning. Near Fine. book.
