First Draft script for the 1979 film. Noted as copy No. 1 in manuscript ink on the front wrapper. Laid in with the script is a business card for agent Daryl A. Marshak of Fred Amsel and Associates. Bert Convy is Tommy Everett, an aging tennis pro who decides to finance his dream of opening his own racquet club by seducing his many wealthy, middle-aged tennis students. Featuring real-life tennis champions Bobby Riggs and Bjorn Borg (Riggs as a fictional character, Borg as himself), challenged with the acting feat of pretending Convy is a comparably skilled tennis player. Set in Beverly Hills, shot on location in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Big Sur. Yellow titled wrappers. Title page present, dated 4/15/77, noted as FIRST DRAFT, with credits for screenwriter Steve Michaels. 154 leaves, with last page of text numbered 150. Xerographic duplication, rectos only.
